SSC JE City Intimation Slip 2026 Out: How to Check Your Paper-I Exam City
How to check your SSC JE 2026 Paper-I exam city, when to expect the admit card, the scribe OTR mapping deadline, and what civil engineering candidates should do before 2 November.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the exam city details for the Junior Engineer Examination 2026 (Computer Based Examination), Paper-I, via an official notice dated 23 October 2026. Paper-I will be held from 2 to 6 November 2026. You can check your exam city by logging in on ssc.gov.in. The admit card, which SSC calls the Admission Certificate, is issued about two to three days before each exam date through the same login. This page explains how to check your city, when to expect the admit card, the scribe registration deadline, and what civil engineering candidates should do now.
Official site: ssc.gov.in. Log in through the designated login module and read your own city and date there — the dates below are general, not your personal exam day.

SSC JE 2026 Exam Date Notice
Paper-I runs on 2 to 6 November 2026, covering General Engineering (Civil and Structural, Electrical, and Mechanical) and IMD Scientific Assistant posts. The exam for JE (Telecommunication) is separate, on 30 November and 1 December 2026, with its own city intimation slip released 8 to 10 days earlier. The day-wise and shift-wise schedule isn't published in advance — your own date and shift appear only on your city slip and admit card. Paper-II's date hasn't been announced yet; SSC is expected to notify it after Paper-I.
How to Check Your SSC JE 2026 Exam City
- Go to ssc.gov.in.
- Open the designated login module for the Junior Engineer Examination 2026.
- Log in with your registration details.
- View your exam city and date, and note them down.
- Plan your travel and stay for the 2 to 6 November window.
The detailed instructions on eligibility, application and the overall exam cycle are in SSC's notice published on 2 September 2026 — see our SSC JE Civil 2026 notification guide for a full breakdown.
SSC JE Admit Card 2026
SSC issues the Admission Certificate two to three days before each exam date, through the same login used for the city slip — there's no separate fixed release date, so check the site regularly as your exam date approaches rather than waiting for an announcement. The city slip is not the admit card: you need the Admission Certificate itself to enter the exam centre.
Scribe Facility: Mapping Deadline
If you opted for the Own Scribe facility for SSC JE 2026:
- Scribe registration may need to be redone. Scribe registrations made before 5 November 2025 were disposed of, so your scribe will likely need a fresh registration on the SSC website.
- Scribe registration is linked to Aadhaar authentication. It is mandatory for anyone willing to enrol or appear as a scribe to complete this fresh registration.
- Map your scribe's OTR by 27 October 2026, 11:00 PM. The Scribe Entry Pass is generated only for candidates who successfully map their Scribe OTR, using the scribe's registration number.
- Age limit and other scribe rules follow SSC's updated policy as stated in the exam notice.
Which Papers Are in This Round
Paper-I on 2 to 6 November 2026 covers General Engineering (Civil and Structural, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering) and IMD Scientific Assistant (Computer Science and IT, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, and Physics). JE (Telecommunication) is a separate exam, on 30 November and 1 December 2026.
Some candidates eligible for both JE (Telecommunication) and Scientific Assistant posts have Electronics and Telecommunication (EC/TC) set as their default Scientific Assistant subject, with the option to switch to Computer Science and IT or Physics at the time of City Live, by 27 October 2026, 11:00 PM. No further change is permitted after that — the subject printed on the Admission Certificate is final.
What Civil Engineering Candidates Should Do Now
- Check your exam city today and plan your travel, since Paper-I starts on 2 November.
- Scribe users: finish OTR mapping well before the 27 October, 11:00 PM deadline.
- Keep checking for your admit card in the days leading up to your exam date, and download it as soon as it's available.
- Spend the remaining days on full-length papers. Take timed mocks covering General Engineering (Civil and Structural), reasoning and general awareness, and review every wrong answer — our SSC JE Civil test series and previous papers cover this pattern.
- Read our SSC JE Civil 2026 notification guide for eligibility, syllabus and the full exam pattern.
SSC JE Paper-I Exam Pattern (Civil)
