Revised Exam Schedule

RRB's original CBT 1 schedule listed three exam days — 27, 28 and 30 October 2026. A later notice narrowed this to 27 and 28 October only. Your own date and shift are on your city intimation slip and admit card, so go by those, not by the general dates above.

How to Download the RRB JE Admit Card

  1. Open your regional RRB's official website and look for the CEN 04/2026 admit card or e-call letter link.
  2. Click the CBT 1 e-call letter link.
  3. Enter your registration number and your date of birth or password.
  4. Complete any verification asked on screen and submit.
  5. Check every detail on the admit card before downloading it.
  6. Take a clear printout on A4 paper.

What's Printed on the Admit Card

Check every detail the moment you download it: your name, roll number and registration number, your photograph and signature, the post you applied for, the exam date and shift, the reporting time and gate-closing time, the exam centre name and address, and the exam-day instructions. If a detail looks wrong, contact your regional RRB right away, since the reporting time is earlier than the exam start.

City Intimation Slip vs Admit Card

The city intimation slip only told you your exam city and date in advance, so you could plan your travel — it is not an entry pass. The admit card gives your exact centre, shift and reporting time, and it is the only document that lets you into the exam hall. If your admit card shows a different date from your city slip, go by the admit card and inform your regional RRB.

Documents to Carry

  • Printed admit card — a clear printout. Do not rely on showing it on your phone.
  • Original photo ID — the one named in your admit card instructions, matching the name on your application.
  • Passport-size photograph — only if your admit card specifically asks you to carry or paste one.
  • Carry any other identity verification document your specific admit card lists — some centres run additional checks, and the exact requirement is printed on your own admit card.

Exam Day Guidelines

  • Reach the centre well before the reporting time, and note the gate-closing time — entry is not allowed after that.
  • Do not carry mobile phones, smartwatches or other electronic devices. Candidates found with them can be disqualified.
  • Follow the photo, ID and any other verification checks at the gate.
  • Read every instruction printed on your admit card.

The paper runs for 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates using a scribe). One-third of the marks for a question is deducted for each wrong answer; unattempted questions carry no penalty.

What to Do in the Last Few Days

CBT 1 is common across every RRB JE discipline, so civil-engineering-specific questions do not appear in it — those are tested later, in CBT 2. A few pointers for these last few days:

  • Do not start new topics. Revise your formula sheet and short notes instead.
  • Take two or three full 90-minute mock tests and review every wrong answer.
  • Budget your time by section — Mathematics and General Science together carry 60 of the 100 marks.
  • Plan your travel and sleep, and look up your exam centre's location in advance if you can.
  • Once you clear CBT 1, our SSC JE Civil test series covers similar technical ground that can help with CBT 2's civil engineering paper.

If You Can't Download the Admit Card

Double-check that your registration number and date of birth are entered correctly, try a different browser or device, and try again after some time — official sites tend to be slow on release day. If it still does not work, contact your regional RRB through the helpline listed on its official website.
