SSC JE Admit Card 2026 Out: Download Link, Steps and Exam Day Checklist
SSC released the Junior Engineer Examination 2026 Paper-I admit card on 30 October 2026, ahead of the exam on 2 to 6 November. Here's the download link, steps, what's on the admit card, and the exam day checklist.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the admit card — SSC calls it the Admission Certificate — for the Junior Engineer Examination 2026, Paper-I, on 30 October 2026. Paper-I runs from 2 to 6 November 2026. This page covers the download link, the steps to log in, what to check on your admit card, what to carry on exam day, and the Paper-I exam pattern.
Download link: ssc.gov.in — log in through the designated admit card module for the Junior Engineer Examination 2026 and download your own Admission Certificate. There is no separate link for civil engineering candidates; every General Engineering branch uses the same login.

How to Download the SSC JE Admit Card 2026
- Go to ssc.gov.in.
- Click on "Candidate Login" or the Paper-I Admission Certificate link for the Junior Engineer Examination 2026.
- Enter your registration number or roll number and your password.
- Submit the login form.
- Your admit card opens on screen — check every detail before downloading it.
- Download the PDF and take a clear printout on A4 paper. Keep a second copy as backup.
If the site is slow right after release, that's expected on admit card day across all SSC exams — wait a few minutes and try again rather than repeatedly resubmitting the form.
What's Printed on the Admit Card
Check each of these the moment you download it, since a mismatch needs to be corrected before exam day, not after:
- Your name, roll number and registration number
- The engineering branch you applied for (Civil and Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical)
- Your photograph, signature and date of birth
- Exam date, reporting time and gate-closing time
- Exam centre name and complete address
- Your category and any scribe details, if applicable
- Space for the invigilator's signature and your thumb impression
- General instructions and CBT rules for exam day
Documents to Carry to the Exam Centre
- Printed admit card — a clear A4 printout. SSC does not accept the admit card shown on a phone screen.
- A valid original photo ID — the document type named in your admit card's instructions (commonly Aadhaar, PAN card, Voter ID or driving licence).
- A passport-size photograph matching the one uploaded during registration, if your admit card asks for one.
- Your scribe's own ID and mapped OTR documentation, if you're using the Own Scribe facility.
Exam Day Instructions
- Reach the centre at least 45 minutes before the reporting time printed on your admit card — entry stops at the gate-closing time.
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, bags and any written material are not allowed inside the centre.
- Make sure your photo and signature on the printout are clear; a smudged or unclear printout can cause delays at verification.
- Read every instruction on the admit card itself — it is specific to your centre and can carry additional local instructions beyond the general rules above.
If There's an Error on Your Admit Card
- Recheck your name, date of birth, registration number and category against your application form — sometimes what looks like an error is a formatting difference, not a mistake.
- Verify your photograph and signature are the ones you uploaded.
- Confirm your exam centre code, address and shift match what you expected.
- If something is genuinely wrong, contact the SSC helpdesk or your regional SSC office through the channels listed on ssc.gov.in — keep your application slip and fee receipt handy, since you'll likely need to quote your registration details.
- Re-download the admit card after any correction is processed; don't carry a printout you know to be wrong.
SSC JE Paper-I Exam Pattern (Civil)
| Subject | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| General Intelligence and Reasoning | 50 | 50 |
| General Awareness | 50 | 50 |
| General Engineering (Civil and Structural) | 100 | 100 |
| Total | 200 | 200 |
Paper-I runs for 2 hours (120 minutes), with 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer. Paper-I is qualifying in nature — your Paper-II score, normalised across shifts, decides the final merit list. Paper-II's own date is yet to be announced.
City Slip vs Admit Card
If you already checked your exam city through SSC's city intimation notice, note that the city slip only confirmed your exam city and date in advance — it is not a valid entry document. The admit card gives your exact centre address, shift and reporting time, and it's the only document that gets you into the exam hall. See our SSC JE city intimation slip guide if you haven't checked your city yet.
What to Do in the Last Few Days
- Download and print your admit card today if your exam falls in the first couple of days of the window (2 or 3 November), since there's little time left otherwise.
- Do not start new topics. Revise formula sheets and short notes for General Engineering (Civil and Structural) instead.
- Take one or two full-length, timed Paper-I mocks and review every wrong answer, especially in Reasoning and General Awareness, where small, fast wins add up.
- Plan your travel and stay around your specific exam date and centre, not the general 2 to 6 November window.
- Our SSC JE Civil test series and previous year papers follow this exact pattern if you want a final round of timed practice.
