SSC JE Civil Engineering Recruitment 2026

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced 1,748 Junior Engineer (Civil) vacancies for 2026. The notification was released on 2 September 2026, and applications were open from 2 to 22 September 2026. The exam date has not been announced yet. Selection has three stages: Paper 1, Paper 2 and document verification. Selected candidates are placed at Level 6 of the 7th CPC pay matrix.

    200 marks, 2 hours — General Intelligence & Reasoning (50), General Awareness (50), General Engineering (Civil & Structural) (100). objective type

  2. 2

    Paper 2

    300 marks, 2 hours — General Engineering (Civil & Structural), objective type.

    Document verification

    Qualified candidates submit original documents for checking.

Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The syllabus centres on Civil and Structural engineering, plus reasoning and general awareness in Paper 1. Negative marking and the detailed topic list are in the official notification.
