RRB JE Recruitment 2026-27

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have announced 4,029 vacancies for Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) and Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) posts. The notification was released on 13 August 2026, and applications ran from 14 August to 13 September 2026. The first stage, CBT 1, is scheduled for 27, 28 and 30 October 2026. Selection has four stages: CBT 1, CBT 2, document verification and a medical examination.

    CBT 1

    Screening test — 100 questions, 100 marks, 90 minutes. Scheduled for 27, 28 and 30 October 2026.

    CBT 2

    Determines the merit list — 150 questions, 150 marks, 120 minutes. Date to be announced.

  3. 3

    Document verification

    Qualified candidates submit original documents for checking.

  4. 4

    Medical examination

    Final stage before appointment.

Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Selection has four stages, and both computer-based tests (CBTs) carry a negative mark of 1/3 for each wrong answer. CBT 1: 100 questions, 100 marks, 90 minutes — Mathematics (30), General Intelligence & Reasoning (25), General Awareness (15), General Science (30). CBT 2: 150 questions, 150 marks, 120 minutes — General Awareness (15), Physics & Chemistry (15), Basics of Computers (10), Environment & Pollution (10), Technical Abilities (100).
